Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing Before a New Slab Floor

This Leeds, ME homeowner was on their wits' end after having their walls and floors ruined because of their basement flooding. They wanted to be able to finish the space and actually use it instead of their basement being an object for nightmares. Exhausted and ready to solve their water intrusion problems, the homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nick Ciciarelli met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a waterproofing system specifically designed for their home.   Wanting their basement dry all the time, they opted for a full Slab with WaterGuard system to ensure they can finally remodel their basement without the risk of their work being ruined by water. A lot of work goes into prepping the basement for the new system, starting with Drainage Matting being laid down. Drainage Matting creates an inorganic barrier between the new slab and the outside elements while aiding in channeling water to prevent hydrostatic pressure from building up. WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter to capture water and channel it to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump is capable of taking all the water and pumping it out of the basement through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. The Buried Discharge Line takes the water far from the home where it won’t cause any issues, and with the installed IceGuard, the system is protected against ice build-up, keeping the system running all year, even during freezing winter months. To finish the waterproofing system, the slab will be poured and a SaniDry XP will be installed to keep humidity levels at a safe level. The SaniDry XP drains to the TripleSafe so the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water, and the SaniDry XP can do its job all the time.   Now the homeowner can remodel their basement and be confident that their basement will be dry all the time.
