An Unfinished Basement That is Unusable
Challenge
This Swanville, ME, homeowner has had a leaky basement for over five years and has noticed it getting progressively worse over the last year. Water has been coming in and creating a small stream in front of their fireplace, which has ruined the bottom of the walls, making it impossible to finish the basement.
Solution
With no plans to move anytime soon, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid sat with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would address the needs of the home and exceed the homeowner's expectations. A WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed and connected to a SuperSump, which is attached to an exterior buried discharge line that takes the water far from the home, preventing further issues. With waterproofing protection in place, the homeowner is now free to finish their basement and finally turn it into a usable space.
