WaterGuard Installation Protects Hollis Center, ME Basement from Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner living in Hollis Center, ME was having trouble keeping their basement from flooding. With water leaking in through their foundation, all the homeowner could do was wait for the water to flow out of the space through their sump in the floor. Looking for a way to prevent the flooding, the homeowner soon heard about us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us and received their free estimate shortly after. They agreed to the job and we got to work!
Solution
As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This newly created trench was then lined with WaterGuard piping, a system that captures moisture as it travels in through concrete. Once in place, the WaterGuard was covered over with a fresh coat of concrete. The water captured by the WaterGuard in guided through the floor to the SuperSump sump pump we installed in this basement’s sump. The SuperSump is able to remove up to 2,650 gallons of water from the home every hour. This water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Discharging a distance from the home, the removed water will not be able to flow back to the home to cause further problems.
With theses additions to their basement, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement during any heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard & SuperSump pump will keep this basement dry for many years to come!
