Vapor Barrier Installation Protects Raymond, ME Crawlspace

Challenge

A homeowner that was living in Raymond, ME was living with a problem beneath their home. Their crawlspace would regularly take on rainwater, which was beginning to cause mold growth. To put an end to this moisture entering the space, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. After we looked over the space and gave the homeowner a free estimate on the cost of the job; We got to work on the waterproofing of this crawlspace!

Solution

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on the installation of a proper vapor barrier to hold back moisture. This began with a Drainage Matting being laid across the floor of the crawlspace. This will keep the moisture from leaving the floor, while sitting just above the surface to allow the water to flow to the best location for draining back into the ground. Over this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the walls and floor of the crawlspace. This thin sheet completely locks out any moisture leaking in towards the interior of the crawlspace. Without moisture to survive, any mold growth will cease and die off.

Now that this homeowner has waterproofed their crawlspace, they no longer worry about the health risks of mold beneath their home. This Vapor Barrier will keep this crawlspace dry for many years to come!
