Basement Waterproofing Keeps Alton, NH Home Dry
Challenge
A homeowner living in Alton, NH was in need of some basement waterproofing. Water had been accumulating in the space during rainfall for a while, creating a damp environment beneath the home. This was creating a musty smell that the homeowner wanted to put an end to. To get this issue taken care of before it got worse, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the waterproofing right away. A SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed on the basement floor. This device will pull in the surrounding air, separating the moisture from it and passing the collected moisture onto the sump for removal. To take care of the water-removal, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump in this basement floor. This device houses three pumps, each working to keep this basement free of water. Two of these pumps handle the bulk of the water while the third pump is a battery-operated backup pump for when the home loses power. Now the water pulled from the air is removed from the basement along with any water collected by the sump itself. This water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line.
