Crawlspace Waterproofing Protects Rockland, ME Home from Moisture Damage
Challenge
A homeowner living in Rockland, ME owned a home with a crawlspace. The crawlspace, however, was prone to taking on water whenever there was any rainfall. This wasn’t initially a problem for the homeowner until a musty smell began to propagate from the space; a sign of mold growth. To have the moisture issue dealt with before the problem got worse, the homeowner sought a solution online. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call to set up their free estimate. Soon after, our crew was dispatched to begin work!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the crawlspace right away. To keep any rainwater from entering the space, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the walls and floor. This is a thin sheet of plastic which seals off the inside of the crawlspace from any outside leakages. Next, to maintain a dry atmosphere within the space, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed. This device will pull in the damp air lingering in the space, separating the moisture from it and releasing the dried air back into the crawlspace. The collected water is then removed from the home through piping.
With these new products installed beneath their home, this homeowner should soon notice the smell dissipate. The SaniDry XP & CleanSpace liner will keep this crawlspace water-free for many years to come!
