WaterGuard Piping Keeps Old Town, ME Basement Free of Flooding Water
Challenge
A homeowner who lived in Old Town, ME had a basement that was suffering from leaking moisture. With a concrete foundation beneath their home and a sump pump in place, the homeowner needed to regularly sweep water across the basement floor during heavy rain to keep the flooding to a minimum. Tired of this, the homeowner decided they needed better waterproofing in the space. After a quick search online, they found their answer, TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away and we dispatched our crew!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they started work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. Within the new trench, WaterGuard piping was laid down, surrounding the basement floor. This piping is connected to the sump before being covered over by lose rocks and concrete to seal it within the floor. Once installed, WaterGuard piping will capture moisture leaking in through the foundation using small holes in the bottom sides of the pipes. Once trapped inside, the water follows the piping to the sump where it will be removed from the home before reaching the surface of the floor to cause problems.
With their new waterproofing in place, this homeowner will no longer need to become involved in the water-removal process. The WaterGuard piping will keep this basement floor dry for years to come!
