FlexiSpan Seal Stops Crack in Freeport, ME Basement from Leaking
Challenge
A homeowner living in Freeport, ME had recently noticed a crack that had spread down one of their concrete basement walls. This crack would allow for rainwater to easily leak into the basement and pool up on the floor. This was a major problem for the homeowner, so they searched for a solution online. They found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to get their free estimate. Once the estimate was done, they gave us the go ahead to begin work!
Solution
When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began the sealing of this crack by brushing it clear of any debris using a coarse brush. To begin the FlexiSpan installation, an initial layer of sealant was then applied within the interior of the crack. This was covered over by a foam matting which ran the length of the crack. This foam will enable the finished structure to bend slightly to keep the seal applied over the crack in the event that the wall shifts in any way. Finally, a second layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam, completing the FlexiSpan installation. Now any water outside the crack will be held back.
With their new sealant in place, this homeowner no longer has to worry about rainwater leaking in through the crack in their basement wall. The FlexiSpan will keep this crack dry for many years to come!
