Yarmouth, ME Basement Kept Dry with WaterGuard Installation
Challenge
A homeowner who lived in Yarmouth, ME was having troubles beneath their home. Their basement would regularly be found with water sitting in puddles on the floor. Even with a concrete foundation in place, this basement was still somehow leaking moisture during rainfall. Looking online for a way to put an end to this leakage, the homeowner found TC Hafford Basement Systems. Shortly after receiving their free estimate, they decided to get the work done and we dispatched a crew!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they started work on the basement right away by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This trench was where WaterGuard piping was then laid, surrounding the basement. After being covered over by a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard pipes buried beneath the floor will capture any leaking moisture before it is able to reach the surface in the future. This water is guided through the floor to the sump where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This device, capable of removing over 2,600 gallons of water per hour, will then force the collected water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside, it is carried away from the home and deposited onto the ground to drain away harmlessly.
With these installations in place, the homeowner now has a dry basement floor, safe from outside leaks. The WaterGuard & SuperSump will maintain a dry basement floor for this homeowner for many years to come!
