CleanSpace Barrier Helps Protect Wells, ME Crawlspace from Leaking Water
Challenge
A homeowner living in Wells, ME had recently begun to notice a musty smell within their home. After a short investigation, they found the smell was coming from the crawlspace beneath the home. With moisture leaking into the unprotected space, the dampness was able to linger and propagate the smell. Wanting to put an end to their crawlspace moisture problem right away, the homeowner searched online for a solution. They soon came across TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call to get the job done!
Solution
As soon as our installation crew arrived, they were able to begin work on the space immediately. They began by laying down a proper vapor barrier. A CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the space, covering the walls and floor with a thin sheet of plastic to keep out future leaks. On top of this liner, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. The SaniDry will take in the damp air surrounding itself, separating the moisture from it. The dried air is then circulated back into the space to help dry out space and maintain a healthy atmosphere. The collected water is then pumped out of the home so that it causes no further problems to this homeowner.
With their new installations in place, this homeowner will no longer need to put up with a musty smell throughout their home. The CleanSpace liner and SaniDry XP will keep their crawlspace water-free for many years to come!
