Sump Installation Keeps Gorham, ME Basement Dry
Challenge
A homeowner who lived in Gorham, ME had been having some troubles beneath their home. Their dirt basement would typically take on some water during rainfall. The homeowner, however, was unable to stop this leakage on their own. To put an end to their leakage problem, the homeowner searched online for a solution. Once they found TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew we were the company for the job and they gave us a call right away! We had our sales representative take a look at the home and give a free estimate to the homeowner, then dispatched a crew to get to work!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the dirt basement right away. To remove any water gathering on this basement floor, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This device can force over 2,600 gallons up and out of the home every hour. This water travels through a PVC discharge line outside where it is carried away from the home. Once outside, the water passes through a section of pipe known as an IceGuard. This section of piping has special holes built into itself which keep the sump safe from blockages that would cause an overflow. When water is blocked by ice or other debris, it can escape through the holes before reaching the sump back inside the home.
With this new system installed beneath their home, this homeowner will no longer enter their basement to find it had flooded during a storm. The SuperSump sump pump will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
