Sump Upgrade Protects Windham, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner living in Windham, ME owned a basement which had been having some moisture troubles lately. Even with a sump in their basement floor, the basement would still take on water during heavy rainfall. The sump would get overwhelmed by the amount of leaking water and overflow across the basement floor. Tired of these damp conditions beneath their home, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to fix their problem.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away by installing a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will handle the water needing to be removed from the basement from now on. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour, which it forces up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This will be plenty of power to keep water from pooling on this basement floor in the future. To keep the SuperSump operational in any weather, we attached an UltraSump backup batter to the nearby wall. The UltraSump will provide the SuperSump with power during any power outages in the home. This will ensure the basement will remain dry even in the harshest weather. The UltraSump will allow the SuperSump to continue operating for up to 11,000 gallons of water-removal before requiring a charge.
Now that this homeowner has a working sump pump in place, their basement will no longer flood during any heavy rain. Their new sump system will keep this basement floor dry for many years to come!
