WaterGuard Piping Keeps Rainwater from Entering Westbrook, ME Basement
Challenge
A couple living in Westbrook, ME were living with a problem. Their concrete foundation around their basement was letting moisture leak into their home. The water would come in through the foundation during heavy rainfall and would linger for days even with their sump pump removing the majority of the water. Wanting to protect their home against future leaks, the homeowner sought a solution online. That is where they found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They gave us a call and we were on the case!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they knew just what to do to keep this basement water-free in the future. They started work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the basement floor. This was where WaterGuard piping was then laid to surround the basement. The piping, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will take in any moisture leaking in through the foundation from now-on. This water will be guided beneath the surface of the floor to the existing sump in the basement to be removed from the home. This will keep the floor surface clear of moisture during any rainfall.
With their new piping in place, these homeowners will no longer have any need to fear water damage taking root beneath their home. The WaterGuard system will keep this basement water-free for many years to come!
