Sump Upgrade Protects Brunswick, ME Basement From Water Damage
Challenge
A homeowner living in Brunswick, ME had been having some moisture troubles beneath their home. Even with a sump in the floor of their basement, the homeowner would find water overflowing across the basement floor during particularly heavy storms. Looking for a way to resolve this problem and avoid water damage, the homeowner found TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away and we dispatched a crew to begin work on their basement!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work right away on the sump. We installed a SuperSump sump pump to take care of the water-removal in the future. The SuperSump can force over 2,600 gallons of water out of the home through the PVC discharge line every hour. With the flooding problem dealt with, it was time to handle the airborne moisture lingering in the basement. To achieve this, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier in the basement. This device will pull in the surrounding, damp air. The moisture is separated from the air and passed on to the SuperSump to be removed from the basement. The now-dry air is then circulated back into the basement to continue to bring new, damp air toward the SaniDry.
With their new sump upgrade in place, this homeowner no longer has any fears of moisture damage taking root in their basement. The SuperSump sump pump will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
