WaterGuard Installation Keeps Dover, ME Basement Safe From Damage
Challenge
A couple that lived in Dover, ME were in need of some basement waterproofing. With a concrete foundation beneath their home, they were unsure how to approach the problem of a water leakage. Worried the leaking water might cause lasting damage, the homeowner sought a solution online. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and immediately called us up to get us on the job!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement floor right away. To start, a shallow trench was excavated around the perimeter of the floor. WaterGuard piping was then laid down within this trench, where it was covered over with a fresh coat of concrete to conceal it within the floor. Once installed, the WaterGuard piping will take in any moisture leaking in through the concrete; Preventing it from reaching the surface of the basement floor in the future. The water trapped within the WaterGuard is guided beneath the floor to the sump where it will be removed from the home.
Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump to handle the water-removal process. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour. This water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Following this line outside, the water passes through an IceGuard pipe section before reaching the end of the line and exiting through a LawnScape discharge port. The IceGuard pipe piece keeps the sump safe from an overflow in the event that ice or other debris blocks the line by allowing the trapped water to escape through built-in angled holes.
With these waterproofing products in place, these homeowners will no longer need to worry about water damage affecting their property. The WaterGuard & SuperSump combination will ensure this basement stays dry for years to come!
