WaterGuard Piping Helps Keep Lewiston, ME Basement Water-Free
Challenge
A couple living in Lewiston, ME had been living with a slight moisture problem in their basement for some time. They had a sump in place to remove the water that would enter through their concrete foundation, but it just wasn’t enough. Water would still be found in puddles around the floor. Tired of having a damp basement, the homeowners sought a solution online. They came across TC Hafford Basement Systems and knew we were the right choice for the job. They called us shortly after and we set up to begin work on their home.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work right away on the basement floor. A shallow trench was dug into the perimeter of the floor. WaterGuard piping was laid within this trench, as well as a TrenchDrain pipe segment placed beneath a door leading into the basement. The WaterGuard piping, once buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will take in any leaking moisture and guide it to the sump without allowing it to reach the surface of the floor in the future. The TrenchDrain will remain flush with the surface of the concrete, so that any water leaking in under the door will fall down directly into the WaterGuard.
With this piping installed, the homeowners will no longer need to live with a damp basement. The WaterGuard piping will keep this floor dry for many years into the future!
