WaterGuard Piping Keeps Moody, ME Basement Water-Free
Challenge
A couple that lived in Moody, ME owned a home where the basement would always appear to be damp. Even though they had a concrete foundation and a sump pump, some water would still collect on the floor. Tired of these conditions, they decided to have something done to fix it. After a quick search online, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the case!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the property, they began work on the basement floor right away by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. Within this new trench, WaterGuard piping was laid and connected to the existing sump pump. Beneath a troublesome door frame, where some water would also leak in, we laid a TrenchDrain section of pipe connected to the WaterGuard. The TrenchDrain has an open grate facing upwards which will collect the water slipping beneath the door. These pipes were then buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, with the surface of the TrenchDrain left flush with the surface of the floor. The WaterGuard piping will capture the moisture leaking in through the concrete from now on.
With this new piping system installed in their basement floor, these homeowners will no longer suffer from a damp basement. The WaterGuard will keep this basement water-free for many years to come!
