WaterGuard Piping Keeps Ocean Park, ME Basement Dry
Challenge
A homeowner in Ocean Park, ME owned a basement with a dirt floor and walls. This enabled outside moisture to easily leak into the basement during rainfall. This was causing problems for the homeowner such as not being able to use the space for fear of water damage. Wanting to have the space waterproofed for future use, the homeowner searched online for a solution. Once they found TC Hafford Basement Systems they knew they fond the company for the job and called us right away to arrange to have the work done.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work right away. This started with a concrete slab being poured across the floor to give the basement a solid surface. Concrete is not fully waterproof, however, so to remedy this problem we laid WaterGuard piping around the perimeter of the slab as we poured it. These pipes are concealed beneath the surface of the concrete, where they will trap incoming water and prevent future leaks. The water trapped within the WaterGuard piping follows the pipes through the floor to a discharge line that carries the water out of the home through a WaterGuard Port. The water then exits the home without causing any further problems for the homeowner.
With their new basement floor and waterproofing in place, this homeowner can now utilize their basement to its potential without needing to fear water damage. The WaterGuard piping will ensure this basement stay dry for many years to come!
