FlexiSpan Seal Protects Vienna, ME Basement From Leaks
Challenge
A homeowner living in Vienna, ME had a crack open up on their basement wall recently. This crack was leaking water into the basement after any rainfall. This being a problem for the homeowner, they searched online for a solution. After finding TC Hafford Basement Systems, they gave us a call and we dispatched a crew!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on sealing the crack right away. To get this job done, we utilized a FlexiSpan seal, which is a three-piece structure. The installation begins with the crack being brushed clear of debris by a coarse brush. Then the first layer is applied, which is a layer of sealant spread into the crack. Over the top of this, a foam mat is placed covering the crack. This foam is what gives the FlexiSpan its flexible nature. Finally, a second layer of sealant is used to seal the structure to the wall, completely covering the foam mat. Now any would-be leaks will be held back by the FlexiSpan seal.
With the crack sealed, this homeowner will no longer need to be concerned with water leaking onto their basement floor from this source. The FlexiSpan seal will keep out water for many years to come!
