SuperSump Upgrade Protects East Boothbay, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner living in East Boothbay, ME owned a basement which had recently taken on water after a particularly bad rainfall. This was immediately a problem for the homeowner, so they jumped online and searched a solution. To have the space waterproofed properly, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began right away waterproofing the basement. With an existing sump, all that needed to be done to keep this basement water-free was to install a SuperSump sump pump in the basement floor. This device can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour. This water is forced out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Just as this line exits the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment. This section of the pipe has special holes built into it which allow for trapped water to escape. This keeps the sump safe from an overflow if water gets blocked by ice or other debris further down the line.
With this waterproofing complete, this homeowner should no longer experience a basement containing a pool of water after a heavy rainfall. The SuperSump will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
