Sump Pump in South Bristol, ME Home Keeps Water Out
Challenge
A couple living in South Bristol, ME recently had some water trouble in their basement. After a particularly bad storm, some water had leaked into their basement. Without a sump pump, the existing sump wasn’t able to keep up with the incoming water. With a damp basement, these homeowners needed a way to dry the space and keep it dry. In order to get the job done right, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
After receiving their free estimate, the homeowner gave our installation crew the go-ahead. Once at the home, our crew began by installing a SuperSump sump pump in the basement floor. This device will remove up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour from the basement. This will be plenty of power to keep up with future storms. This water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. To eliminate any accumulated moisture in the air, a SaniDry XP dehumidifier was installed. This device pulls in the surrounding air, separating the moisture from it. The dried air is circulated back into the basement while the water is passed to the SuperSump for removal.
Outside the home, we made two additions to the discharge line to further protect this home. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just where the line exits the home. This piece has special holes built into it which allow for trapped water to escape. This keeps the sump safe from an overflow in the event of ice or debris blocking the line. Lastly, on the end of the line, a LawnScape discharge port was attached. Here, the water exits the line onto the ground where it will harmlessly drain away. This far from the home, the water will no longer be able to reach the home to cause future problems.
With their new upgrades installed, these homeowners will no longer need to fear water damage during the next bad rainstorm. The SuperSump sump pump will be sure to handle any incoming moisture trying to flood this basement.
