TC Hafford Basement Systems Stops Eastport, ME Basement Leakage
Challenge
A homeowner living in Eastport, ME had been having trouble with water leaking into their basement through one of the concrete walls. This water was gathering on the floor, which was worrying to the homeowner as it could lead to mold problems or water damage to the home. Needing this problem taken care of soon, but unsure how to do it on their own, the homeowner called the professionals; TC Hafford Basement Systems. After a short talk with our office staff, their free estimate was arranged.
Solution
Once they decided to get the work done, our installation crew arrived at the home. To stop the water from leaking in through this crack, we used a three-part structure known as FlexiSpan. This began with the crack being brushed clear of debris. The first part of the FlexiSpan is a layer of sealant applied within the crack. This is then covered over by a foam matting, which gives the FlexiSpan its flexible nature. Finally, the foam is covered in the second layer of sealant to hold the FlexiSpan in place. Once dried, this structure locks out outside moisture from entering through the crack in the future, while maintaining flexibility to conform to any slight shifting in the shape of the crack.
With their new seal in place, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about moisture problems taking root in their basement. The FlexiSpan will now keep this basement dry for many years to come!
