Polyurethane Injection Protects Milbridge, ME Basement from Leakage
Challenge
A homeowner living in Milbridge, ME noticed a problem beginning to form in their basement. A crack had opened across one of their concrete basement walls. Unable to stop this leakage on their own, the homeowner was unsure how to approach the problem. After a quick internet search, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the crack taken care of!
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to move straight to the basement to begin work on the repairs. The crack on this particular wall ran behind several wooden supports. This eliminated one of our options for crack repair, so we used our other technique, a Polyurethane Injection. This begins once the crack was brushed clear of debris using a coarse brush. A preliminary layer of sealant is applied over the crack with plugs placed every few inches along the seal. Once dried in place, the plugs are opened and injected with Polyurethane, which fills the crack completely, with the plugs replaced after. This Polyurethane dries in place and locks out any future moisture that might have leaked in through this crack.
With their new seal in place, this homeowner now has their basement protected from future leakages. The Polyurethane Injection seal will keep this basement safe for many years to come!
