FlexiSpan Seal Prevents Future Leaks in Searsmont, ME Basement
Challenge
A homeowner in Searsmont was struggling with a crack that had recently opened up on one of their basement walls. This crack was leaking water onto the basement floor during any rainfall, which was an immediate problem for the homeowner. To stop this crack from causing future problems, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the sealing the crack right away. To seal this crack, we used FlexiSpan; A flexible seal that can shift to any small changes in the shape of the crack. To begin, the crack was brushed clear of debris with a coarse brush. Once clear, a preliminary layer of sealant was applied within the crack, this will dry soon, but not before we laid a foam matting over the top. This foam matting is what enables the FlexiSpan to contort to the shape of the crack. Finally, a second layer of sealant was applied over the top of the structure to hold everything in place. Once dried, this seal will hold out any moisture that would attempt to leak in in the future.
With their new seal holding back water, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a damp basement due to this leak. The FlexiSpan will hold out water for many years to come!
