Vapor Barrier Protects Cornish, ME Crawlspace

Challenge

A homeowner in Cornish, ME was worried about the moisture gathering in their crawlspace. After the moisture built up for some time and began to show signs of mold growth, the homeowner was in desperate need of protecting the crawlspace from this moisture. To get the job done, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.

Solution

Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they were able to begin work on the crawlspace right away. For starters, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor of the crawlspace. This mat sits just off the surface of the floor where it will hold moisture beneath itself without allowing it to reach the air. This space allows the water to travel across the floor and find a place to drain away from the crawlspace. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the crawlspace. This finishes the vapor barrier, completely locking out any moisture that would have otherwise leaked into the crawlspace to cause future problems.

With their new vapor barrier completed, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about their moisture problem becoming worse in the future. This vapor barrier will keep the crawlspace dry for years to come.
