WaterGuard Piping Guards Peru, ME Basement From Surrounding Moisture
Challenge
A struggling Peru, ME couple were having trouble keeping a handle on the moisture levels in their basement. Even with a sump in place, the water leaking in through the concrete foundation was still gathering across the floor without being removed. Tired of manually removing this water, the homeowner needed professional assistance. To get the job done, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
With water leaking up through the floor of the basement, once our installation crew began work on the home, they started by digging a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. We then laid a WaterGuard piping system down within this new trench. A TrenchDrain pipe segment was used beneath a door leading to the basement which would regularly leak water beneath itself. This piece has an upward facing grate to collect moisture running beneath the door. These pipes were then buried underneath a fresh coat of concrete, with the TrenchDrain being left level with the surface of the newly poured concrete. Within the floor, the WaterGuard will capture the leaking moisture before it can reach the surface of the floor. This trapped water is then guided through the pipes to the sump where it will be removed from the home through a PVC discharge line.
With their new professionally installed waterproofing system in place, this couple can now live without needing to struggle to keep their basement water-free. The WaterGuard piping system will keep water from ever reaching the floor for many years to come.
