Cracks in Greenville, ME Basement
Challenge
A homeowner in Greenville, ME called TC Hafford Basement Systems with a problem. A crack had opened up across one of their basement walls. Unsure how to stop water from leaking in through this crack, the homeowner needed professional assistance. They came to the right people and our industry leading team was on the job!
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they began work on the wall right away. To seal up the crack running behind several wooden supports along the wall, we needed to use a Polyurethane Injection. To do this, a sealant was applied over the top of the crack while plugs were placed every few inches leading into the crack. After the sealant dried, the plugs were opened and injected with Polyurethane. This injection fills the crack entirely on the inside, solidifying in place and sealing the crack completely. After each injection, the plugs were replaced to hold the Polyurethane in. We then used a Spray Foam to better-insulated the home per the homeowners’ request. This will help the homeowner year-round with temperature control within the home.
With their newly sealed crack and Spray Foam insulation, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about a water problem taking root in their basement. The Polyurethane Injection will ensure this crack doesn’t leak for many years to come!
