Water Leaking into Owls Head, ME Basement Cracks
Challenge
A homeowner in Owls Head, ME recently noticed a problem in their basement. After two cracks opened up on the walls of their basement, water began leaking in and gathering on the floor. This moisture could lead to damage to the home, which the homeowner wanted to avoid. The homeowner soon called TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the problem taken care of promptly.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they began work on the cracks right away by brushing them clear of debris with a coarse brush. This enabled FlexiSpan to be applied over the crack. This structure is a three-step installation, which is composed of a foam matting sandwiched between two layers of sealant. The first sealant layer is applied within the crack with the second being applied over the top to hold it all in place. The foam in the middle enables the FlexiSpan to shift to any contortions in the crack. Finally, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed to dry the air within the space and keep it dry in the event of future moisture entering the basement.
With the FlexiSpan and SaniDry in place, this basement is now safe from airborne moisture as well as leaks from outside moisture. The SaniDry CX will keep the basement air dry and healthy for many years to come!
