TripleSafe Sump System Protects Stockton Springs, ME Basement From Outside Water
Challenge
A Stockton Springs, ME homeowner had been struggling to keep their basement dry lately. With water leaking in directly through their concrete foundation, the homeowner had no way to stop the leaks and could only remove the water once it had built up. To take care of this without the need to manually remove water after every rain shower, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the scene, we were able to begin work on the basement right away. To handle the moisture leaking into this home, the basement would need a sump pump to carry the water away. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump to do just this. The TripleSafe holds three pumps within itself, the first being a primary pump used for the bulk of the water needing to be pumped out of the home. The secondary pump is there to take over in the event the primary either fails or cannot keep up with the amount of water in the basement. This will give the primary time to be repaired without any flooding in the basement. The third and final pump is a battery-operated backup pump utilized when the home loses power. This device will keep this basement safe from outside moisture no matter the weather.
The TripleSafe forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This discharge line carries the water away from the home where it is deposited onto the ground a safe distance from the home. It can drain away into the ground here harmlessly, never to bother this homeowner again. To help the sump maintain water flow year-round, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment to this line just where it leaves the home. This pipe section has special holes built in which allow for trapped water to escape. This will protect the TripleSafe from an overflow in the event that ice or other debris blocks the line.
With their new sump system in place, this homeowner will never need to manually remove water from their basement again. The TripleSafe sump pump will keep this basement water-free for many years to come!
