WaterGuard Piping Keeps Nobleboro, ME Basement Safe from Moisture
Challenge
A struggling homeowner in Nobleboro, ME had been having difficulties with their basement lately. With water leaking in directly through the concrete foundation around their basement, the homeowner had been manually removing water from their basement during any rainfall lately. Tired of this habit, the homeowner wanted this process automated. To have this done properly, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they were able to begin work on the basement floor waterproofing right away. To begin, a shallow trench was dug into the floors surface, running around the outer edge of the floor. This trench was then where we laid WaterGuard piping. These pipes will now capture the moisture that would have otherwise leaked onto the floor. The WaterGuard is buried beneath a fresh coating of concrete to seal it within the floor, leaving the basement looking as good as new, while remaining water-tight.
The water trapped by the WaterGuard is guided beneath the floor to the sump where it will leave the home. To handle this water removal, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This device has enough power to keep all of the incoming water at bay, maintaining a perfectly dry basement floor. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour. This water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line where it is carried away from the home to be deposited at a safe distance.
With their new basement system installed, this homeowner will no longer need to involve themselves in manual pumping to keep their basement dry. The WaterGuard & SuperSump combination is enough to keep nearly any storm at bay!
