SuperSump Saves Flooding Randolph, ME Basement
Challenge
A homeowner in Randolph, ME was living with a damp basement. With a sump in the floor, the water should have been flowing out of the home. During heavy rain, this sump would sometimes allow some water out across the floor. Wanting this problem dealt with as soon as possible, this homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement automating the water removal process. To do this, we installed a SuperSump sump pump in the basement floor. This device will take in the water leaking into the basement, then forcing it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can move up over 2,600 gallons of water every hour. Now no more water will leak out of this sump due to an overflow.
Following the discharge line outside, we made two additions before our crew was done. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment. This pipe piece has special angled holes built into it which allow for trapped water to escape. This prevents an overflow in the sump if ice or other debris were to block the line. Finally, a LawnScape pipe piece was used to end the line. Here the water drains away into the ground a safe distance from the home.
With these new additions to their home, this homeowner should never again experience water leaking out across their basement floor due to the sump being overwhelmed. The SuperSump is powerful enough to keep this basement water-free for years to come!
