WaterGuard Piping Protects Parsonsfield, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner in Parsonsfield, ME had been struggling to keep their basement water-free. Needing to manually remove the water during any serious rainfall, the homeowner wanted a way to remove the need for manual interference. With a concrete foundation, they were unsure how to do this on their own and needed professional help. To get this job done right, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away. We needed to keep water from entering through both the floor, as well as leaking in underneath a door leading outside from the basement. They started by digging a shallow trench into the perimeter of the basement floor. Within this trench, we laid the WaterGuard piping. Buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard pipes work within the floor to capture any incoming moisture. We attached a TrenchDrain to the WaterGuard running beneath the door in the basement. This Trench Drain has a grate on its surface that rests level with the floor to capture any water leaking in under the door. Now any water captured within the new piping will be guided to the sump for removal from this basement without ever reaching the surface of the floor.
With their new installation in place, this homeowner will no longer need to remove water manually whenever rainfall begins to try and enter the home. The WaterGuard piping will ensure this basement remains dry for many years to come!
