Unity, ME Basement Kept Dry With TripleSafe
Challenge
A homeowner in Unity, ME was in need of some help. Water had started leaking into their basement and they simply couldn’t contain it. Wanting to have this water taken care of autonomously, the homeowner contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems. They received their free estimate from our sales representative shortly after!
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the basement right away. To take on the water leaking in we installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the floor. This device houses three individual pumps, each serving a function. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water trying to flood the basement. The secondary pump is a backup for when the primary either can’t handle the entirety of the water or fails for some reason. This allows the primary to be repaired without any downtime in the operation of the sump. Finally, the third pump is a battery backup pump for when the home loses power. This will ensure the basement remains water-free in any weather.
The water being pumped out of the home through the TripleSafe flows through a PVC discharge line. Just as this line exits the home, the water passes through a piece called an IceGuard. This piece has angled holes built in to allow for trapped water to escape. This prevents an overflow in the sump in the event of a blockage formed by ice or other debris. The water then exits the end of the line through a LawnScape discharge port. Here the water drains away safely into the ground, never to bother this homeowner again.
With their new waterproofing in place, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about having a wet basement. The TripleSafe will keep this basement dry in any weather for years to come!
