Machias, ME Crawlspace Waterproofed Properly With CleanSpace

Challenge

A homeowner in Machias, ME had been living with an unpleasant smell in their home for months. The crawlspace beneath the home had never been properly waterproofed and this was causing the problem smell. Needing the smell gone, the homeowner searched online for a solution. After they found TC Hafford Basement Systems they knew just who to call.

Solution

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home they began work on the crawlspace. To remedy the situation, a vapor barrier needed to be installed. To do this, we began by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the crawlspace. This mat will hold moisture beneath itself while allowing that water to flow and find an optimal position to drain away through. Over the top of this, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the entire crawlspace interior. Covering any access points, the CleanSpace completely locks out any potential leaks into the crawlspace.

With their new vapor barrier in place, the homeowner will no longer have a leaky crawlspace. The musty odor will now fade away with the newly dried crawlspace.
