SuperSump Upgrade Protects Rollinsford, ME Basement From Water Damage
Challenge
A homeowner in Rollinsford, NH had been having a problem with their basement. When water would leak into the space during rainfall, it should have exited the basement through the sump in the floor. The water, however, was spreading out across the floor due to the sump backup up and overflowing. To fix this problem, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our installation crew arrived on the scene, they got to work upgrading this basement right away. To assist the sump with the water-removal and ensure all of the water gets removed, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This device takes in the water within the sump and forces it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump is strong enough to handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour. This will keep the basement floor free of water, now that it is all being removed through the sump pump.
Following the discharge line outside, we made two final additions to the home before we were finished. The first of these additions was the IceGuard pipe segment added just outside the home. This piece has special holes built into it which allow for trapped water to escape through. If ice or other debris blocks the line, the water will exit through the IceGuard. On the end of the line we attached a LawnScape discharge point. The water leaves the end of the line here and drains away harmlessly into the ground. This far from the home, the water will no longer be able to flow back to the home.
With their new basement system in place, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about a flooding basement. The SuperSump will keep the basement clear of water for many years to come!
