Windsor, ME Basement Kept Dry with SuperSump Upgrade
Challenge
A homeowner in Windsor, ME had been trying to keep water out of their basement. Even with a sump in their basement floor, the water would still overflow across the floor. This problem needed to be addressed, as the homeowner was sick of manual water-removal. To get the space waterproofed they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Our installation crew soon arrived at the home to begin work on the basement. To stop future moisture from overpowering the sump, we needed to upgrade this basement with a pump. We installed a SuperSump sump pump to do just this. The SuperSump can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour, plenty of force to keep the sump from overflowing in the future. The water is forced up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line.
The discharge line carries the water away from the home before depositing onto the ground to drain away. The water exits the line through a LawnScape discharge point. Here it is far enough from the home where it cannot cause any further problems for the homeowner. Before the water reaches the end of the line, as it exits the home, it passes through an IceGuard pipe segment. This segment has special holes built into it which protect again overflows. If ice or other debris clogs the piping, the water can now exit through the IceGuard before backing all the way up to the sump.
With their new products installed, this homeowner will never again need to manually remove water from their basement. The SuperSump sump pump will keep this basement free of water for many years to come!
