SuperSump Upgrade Saves Harrison, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner in Harrison, ME had lately begun to notice moisture gathering in small puddles around their basement floor. This dampness began to cause a musty smell, which was a problem the homeowner wanted resolved right away. To have the moisture taken care of, the homeowner called our professional team at TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
As soon as the installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the basement right away. To handle the water gathering across the floor, we put in a SuperSump sump pump. This device will take in the water and force it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can pump up to 2,650 gallons of water out of the home every hour. This new pump will keep the floor clear of moisture from now on.
To help the SuperSump operate through every season, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line just outside the home. The IceGuard will protect the SuperSump from overflows if the lower end of the line becomes blocked by ice or other debris. It does this using special holes in the sides of the pipe that allow only backed up water to escape. We then attached a LawnScape discharge point to the end of the line. The water exits here and drains safely away into the ground where it will no longer be able to cause problems for this homeowner.
Now that this homeowner has a proper sump pump in place, their basement floor will remain dry for the future. The SuperSump will take on any rainstorm nature throws at this Harrison, ME home.
