SuperSump Upgrade Saves Wiscasset, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner in Wiscasset, ME had been living with a damp basement for some time. After having a storm cause some flooding in this basement, residual water and more slight flooding was becoming a serious problem. To have this problem solved, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away. To solve the problem of the residual moisture within the basement atmosphere, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This device will pull in the surrounding moist air, separating the moisture from it. The dried air is then circulated back into the basement, causing a cycle where more moist air is forced back toward the SaniDry. This process repeats until the air within this basement becomes perfectly dry and healthy.
The water that is pulled from the air is then deposited into the sump in the basement floor. To help this sump handle the water gathering in it, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can move up to 2,600 gallons of water every hour. The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line. It is carried a safe distance away from the home before it is deposited onto the ground to drain away.
With these products installed, this homeowner can now enjoy a dry basement once again. The residual water will be gone in no time!
