TripleSafe Upgrade Saves Madison, ME Basement From Flooding
Challenge
A homeowner in Madison, ME was having trouble with their sump. Water was still gathering on the floor even though it should have been leaving the home through their sump. Looking to have this problem solved without breaking the bank, this homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home they began work on upgrading the sump. To increase the power of the sump and maintain a dry basement even on harsh storms, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe houses three pumps. The first pump handles the bulk of the water needing removal from the basement. The second pump takes over when the primary can’t handle the water levels. The third and final pump is a battery-operated backup pump to keep the basement water-free when the home is without power. This water is forced out of the home through a PVC discharge line.
Just outside the home, an IceGuard pipe segment was attached to the discharge line. This segment has special holes built into it which allow for trapped water to escape. These holes prevent an overflow in the sump if ice or other debris block the line. On the end, we attached a LawnScape discharge point where the water exits onto the ground. This far from the home, the water will no longer be able to reach the basement to cause further problems.
With these upgrades to their sump, this homeowner will no longer experience a flooding basement. The TripleSafe sump pump will ensure this basement stays dry for years to come!
