WaterGuard Piping Waterproofs Bucksport, ME Basement
Challenge
A Bucksport, ME homeowner had lately been suffering from a damp basement. With a new concrete slab in place, they were still having moisture build up across the floor. To put an end to this leakage, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford crew arrived, they began work right away on the basement floor. To stop the outside moisture from leaking through, a shallow trench was dug into the concrete slab, around the outer perimeter. Our crew then laid 154 feet of WaterGuard piping down within this trench. The WaterGuard was covered over with a fresh layer of concrete. Within the floor, these pipes will now capture any water leaking in through the pores of the concrete, protecting the surface of this floor from further flooding.
The trapped water follows the WaterGuard to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour, forcing this water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The water follows this line out away from the home where it is deposited onto the ground. The SuperSump will maintain a dry basement floor even in the heaviest rain storm.
With their new basement system in place, this homeowner can now utilize the space beneath their home without the fear of flooding. The WaterGuard & SuperSump combination will ensure a dry basement for many years to come!
