FlexiSpan Seal Stops Lebanon, ME Basement Leaks
Challenge
A homeowner in Lebanon, ME had a crack in one of their basement walls which was regularly leaking rainwater onto the basement floor. Unsure how to prevent this leak, the homeowner sought professional help. After some research they called TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the job!
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the crack right away. To keep water from entering this crack, we needed to use FlexiSpan, which is a structure made up of three parts. Before the FlexiSpan was installed, we first brushed the crack clear of debris with a coarse brush. The first layer of sealant was then applied to the crack, filling the inside of the crack. On tops of this sealant, a foam mat was placed to give the overall structure its flexibility. Then a second layer of sealant was added over the top of the mat, completing the FlexiSpan structure. The FlexiSpan will now hold back any leaks, as well as conforming to any changes in the shape of the crack.
With their FlexiSpan in place, this homeowner can now relax, knowing their basement will no longer suffer from a leak through the crack. This basement should stay dry for many years to come!
