Cracked Wall In Skowhegan, ME Basement Sealed with FlexiSpan
Challenge
A homeowner in Skowhegan, ME noticed that a large crack had formed on one of their walls and water had been leaking in. Unable to stop the leak on their own, the homeowner needed professional help. They called TC Hafford Basement Systems and we were on the job!
Solution
Once the TC Hafford crew arrived, they were able to begin work on the crack right away. To start, we began by brushing the crack with a coarse brush to remove any excess debris and smooth out the surface. Once clear, we laid a preliminary layer of sealant down inside the crack. Once in place, a foam mat was laid over the top of the crack, sealed in place with another layer of sealant over the top. This structure is known as FlexiSpan. FlexiSpan is, as the name suggests, flexible, thanks to the foam mat on the inside. The FlexiSpan will seal out any moisture trying to leak in through this crack, as well as conform to any shifting in the crack shape.
With their new seal in place, this homeowner can now rest assured their basement floor will remain dry. The FlexiSpan seal will ensure this crack never leaks again!
