Sump Upgrade Saves Basement From Flooding in Buxton, ME
Challenge
A homeowner in Buxton, ME had been having issues with their current sump. The water used to exit the basement just fine, but lately it has been overflowing onto the floor. This was unacceptable, the homeowner needed to do something about it. To have the problem fixed right away the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford crew arrived, they began right away by clearing room within the sump for a new pump to be installed. After this was done, a SuperSump sump pump was put in. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour. This much power should be able to maintain a dry basement floor in any amount of rain. The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line. The line had an IceGuard pipe segment attached just as it left the home. This piece has special holes built into it which allow for water trapped by ice or debris to escape. The IceGuard will protect the sump from future overflows.
With these products in place, the homeowner now owns a fully functional sump, safe from seasonal weather. Their basement should remain dry for many years to come!
