Yarmouth, ME Basement Kept Dry With TripleSafe Pump
Challenge
A homeowner in Yarmouth, ME had been having trouble with their basement. Water had been leaking in and gathering in puddles across the floor. To put an end to this, they needed a pump to remove the water. To get this job done right, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the crew arrived at the home they began work right away. To remove the water, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe, as the name suggests, holds three pumps within itself. The first pump handles the bulk of the water, only passing on the responsibility of water removal to the secondary pump when the primary fails for any reason. This allows time for the primary pump to be repaired without water overwhelming the pump. The third and final pump is battery-powered backup pump to handle the water when the home loses power. The water exits the home through a PVC discharge line.
Outside the home, the water travels through the discharge line away from the basement. One the end of the line, the water exits through a LawnScape discharge piece. Here, the water is far enough from the home to no longer be able to negatively affect the home. To prevent an overflow in the sump from ice blockage in the line, we attached an IceGuard pipe segment to the line just as it left the home. This piece has special holes built into it which allow trapped water to escape.
With their new sump in place, the moisture on this homeowners’ floor is a thing of the past. Thanks to the TripleSafe, this basement will remain dry for many years to come!
