TripleSafe Sump Pump Saves Wells, ME Basement From Water Damage
Challenge
A homeowner in Wells, ME was starting to smell a musty smell coming from their basement. The moisture within the basement was beginning to cause trouble for the homeowner. To have this moisture dealt with properly, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
To get the basement under control, the space was going to need a sump pump. The basement already had a sump, but it was without a pump. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump to handle the water removal from now on. The TripleSafe contains three pumps each for keeping the basement free of water. The first and second pumps handle the bulk of the water, with the secondary only being required if the primary fails to keep up with the water for any reason. The third and final pump is a battery-operated backup pump. The water is removed from the home through a PVC discharge line.
Next, because there was still water within the air of the space that could lead to troubles, we needed to have it removed before we were done. To achieve this, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. The SaniDry will take in the surrounding damp air, separating the moisture from the air. The dried air is circulated back into the basement, forcing more moist air back to the SaniDry to be dried. The water is then passed to the sump for removal. This will keep the air within the space dry and healthy.
Having a proper sump pump in place, this homeowner will now have a dry basement for whatever use they may need it for. Now no more water will cause problems for this homeowner in the future.
