Sanford, ME Basement Kept Dry Using WaterGuard Piping
Challenge
A homeowner in Sanford, ME had been living with a damp basement. These conditions were unacceptable for the homeowner, so they sought out a way to have them sorted. To get the basement waterproofed properly, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once the TC Hafford installation crew arrived they began work right away on the basement floor. To stop water from leaking into this basement, we needed to waterproof the concrete floor. Due to the pores in concrete, water can normally enter fairly easily. To stop this, we dug a trench around the outside edge of the basement floor, laying WaterGuard piping down along the length of the trench. This piping, sealed into the floor, will capture the moisture that would have otherwise leaked into this basement.
The trapped water is then guided through the WaterGuard to the sump for removal. To allow the basement to remove all of the water captured, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water every hour. The water is forced out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Through this line, the water is carried far enough from the home where it will no longer pose a threat to this homeowner.
Now safe from any moisture build up, this homeowner will no longer need to put up with a damp basement. The WaterGuard & SuperSump combination is a powerful force against water!
