Polyurethane Injection Stops Leak In East Blue Hill, ME Basement
Challenge
A homeowner in East Blue Hill, ME had been having trouble keeping water from entering their basement. With a crack in one of the walls, water was freely leaking in. To put an end to this leak, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our crew arrived at the home, they needed to determine which method would be best to seal this crack. Since the crack was running along a wall behind several wooden supports, a Polyurethane Injections was used to get this job done. To start, the crack was brushed clear of debris with a coarse brush. Next, a preliminary layer of sealant was applied over the crack, with plastic plugs placed every few inches. Once dried in place, the plugs were opened, and Polyurethane was injected into the crack. After each injection, the plugs were replaced, and the Polyurethane was allowed to dry. This filled the crack entirely and completely locked out any moisture that would have otherwise entered the basement.
With the crack sealed, this homeowner would no longer need to worry about water leaking into their basement. Thanks to the Polyurethane Injection, this East Blue Hill, ME basement is safe from water damage!
