Flooding Weld, ME Basement Kept Dry With WaterGuard Piping
Challenge
A homeowner in Weld, ME contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems with a need. Their dirt basement had been taking on a lot of water recently, and this flooding was a problem. To have the mess sorted properly, he was looking for professional help. Luckily for him, TC Hafford has just the fix!
Solution
Upon arriving at the home, the crew first began work by pouring a fresh slab of concrete into the basement. This new floor would help to keep out moisture but would not guarantee the space would remain dry on its own. Because of the small cracks and holes in the concrete which would allow water to pass through, we installed WaterGuard piping beneath the surface of the slab, around the outer edge. This piping will capture any water leaking in through the slab and guide it to the sump where it will exit the basement without causing problems.
Next, to take care of the sump, our crew installed a SuperSump sump pump. This will take in the collected water from the WaterGuard and force it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The SuperSump can move over 2,600 gallons of water every hour. This power will surely keep this basement water-free for the future. To keep the SuperSump operational even when the home is without power, we attached an UltraSump backup battery. This battery will give the SuperSump an extra 11,000 gallons worth of pumping before it would require another charge.
This new basement system will now keep this basement water-free. Thanks to the WaterGuard piping, this homeowner can now utilize a dry basement for whatever needs they may have!
