Flooding Vienna, ME Basement Drained Properly With TripleSafe
Challenge
A homeowner in Vienna, ME had been having trouble keeping water out of their basement. With a lackluster sump, they would often need to manually pump out water during any rainfall. To have this space kept self-sufficient, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
Once our crew arrived, they began work right away. To give this sump the ability to handle all of the water within the basement, we Installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This device contains three individual pumps. The first of these pumps handles the bulk of the water from the basement floor. The water leaving the basement through the TripleSafe exits through a PVC discharge line. The second pump in the device takes over for the primary in the event of a failure. The third and final pump is battery-operated and will keep the basement dry even without power in the home.
The water follows the discharge line out of the home, where it carries the water a safe distance from the home. Here, the water is released onto the ground where it will never bother this homeowner again! This piping was susceptible to backups, however, where any ice in the piping would cause the TripleSafe to overflow. To prevent this, we added an IceGuard pipe section onto the discharge line just outside the home. This piece has special holes built into it which do not affect normal water flow but will allow any trapped water to escape.
With their new sump in place, this homeowner will never need to manually pump water again! The TripleSafe will protect this home even in the harshest weather!
