Damp Freedom, ME Crawlspace Kept Dry With CleanSpace
Challenge
A homeowner in Freedom, ME had a crawlspace with a moisture problem. The space was always damp following any rain showers. This moisture could easily lead to mold problems in the crawlspace, which the homeowner wanted to avoid. To have the space waterproofed, they called TC Hafford Basement Systems.
Solution
As soon as the crew arrived at the home, they got right to work waterproofing this crawlspace. They started by Re-Grading the floor of the space. This leveled out the dirt, while removing any debris that might have been in the way of the installation process. The crew then used Wrap Piers to cover the support pillars within the crawlspace. These piers will keep the pillars free of moisture build-up, which could otherwise have led to rotting supports.
Next, the crew laid a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. The Drainage Mat will prevent moisture from leaving the floor to enter the atmosphere of the space while allowing the water beneath room to flow and drain away from the home. They then encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace liner. This liner is a thin plastic sheet covering all of the walls as well as the floor of the space. No moisture will be passing through into this crawlspace any time soon.
These new additions to this crawlspace will ensure this homeowner no longer needs to suffer from a damp crawlspace. The brand-new vapor barrier will keep out any and all moisture that might have previously caused problems in this home.
